How to Make Noodles in Japanese Style - The Famous Ramen Noodles

Japan also has a massive influence on the pop cultures of today. From music, culture, and cartoon shows to food. For example, Japanese dish sushi is famous around the world. Other than sushi, Japanese style ramen noodles are also very popular. So today, we will guide you on how to make noodles in Japanese style, which is commonly called Ramen.

It is a tough task to make ramen noodles and requires precision and patience. It is especially more laborious if you have no culinary experience. So, stick with the steps and pay attention to everything that it asks you to do. Even if you fail to find a few ingredients, you can still follow the recipe without those items.

Recipe On How To Make Noodles In Japanese Style

  • 700ml chicken stock
  • Three garlic cloves halved
  • Four tbsp soy sauce, plus extra to season
  • One tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • a thumb-sized piece of ginger, sliced
  • Half tsp Chinese five spice
  • pinch of chili powder
  • One tsp white sugar (optional)
  • 375g ramen noodles
  • 400g sliced cooked pork or chicken breast
  • Two tsp sesame oil
  • For the garnish
  • 100g baby spinach
  • Four tbsp sweetcorn
  • Four boiled eggs, peeled and halved
  • One sheet dried nori, finely shredded
  • sliced green spring onions or shallots
  • sprinkle of sesame seeds


In a large stockpot or sauce-pan add three halved garlic cloves, four tablespoons soy sauce, one tablespoon Worcestershire sauce and a sliced thumb-sized piece of ginger. Then mix it thoroughly. After that, add half tablespoons of Chinese five-spice, a pinch of chili powder and add 300ml of water. Blend everything together and then add 700 ml chicken stock in the pot. After everything has been thoroughly mixed lower the heat and leave it to simmer for five minutes.


You can taste the stock when it is ready. You can add a tablespoon of white sugar or a little more soy sauce to your liking to make it more sweeter or saltier. After the stock is done, boil the 375g ramen noodles in a separate pot in water. After it has cooked, drain the noodles and set it aside. Then slice 400g of cooked pork or chicken and fry it in two teaspoons sesame oil until it just starts to turn brown.

Now divide the boiled noodles into four bowls and add a quarter of the fried meat on top of each. After that, add 25g of spinach, one tablespoon of sweetcorn and two boiled halved eggs on top alongside the meat on each bowl. Then strain the stock into a clean pan and boil it once again for a couple of minutes. After that, pour the stock in the bowls and sprinkle the nori sheet, sliced onions or shallots and sesame seeds on top. Let the spinach to wilt slightly before serving. You can now enjoy a hot and delicious bowl of ramen at your home.
